I called this number. Her first question was "how much do you owe". As soon as I said I wasn't sure this was legit she said "look up student loan forgiveness on the website and you'll see you're making a big mistake. Don't ever call us again" and click she hung up on me. When I called back it said the number was no longer in service (888-805-0480).

Pure scam!

Fake student loan forgiveness call. It's clever because these scammers are now using voice-over freelancers from Fiverr to do these recordings fooling the targets into thinking the call is not from a foreign country. It's all about stealing SSN#'s so never talk to these people nor answer their calls. If you do they will add you to 1,000's of new "hot lists" identifying you as a good mark for scamming.

Offered student loan forgiveness with "the processing center" then directed me to call another 888. They finished the message with disregarding if I don't have a student loan despite saying I had on file a student loan eligible for forgiveness.

Call for student loan forgiveness. Said my most recent IRS filing makes me eligible and all i have to do is call and fill out a request form. I'm +70 years old and never had student loan debt.
