Stephen Blair called about a bad check I had left for a speed cash place. I already filed for BK a year ago and my attorney said I have nothing to worry about. I spoke to Stephen and he said that he has all my information and his client was trying to take me to court. I told him I had already filed BK and he repeated my attorneys information and he said he will contact him to confirm. I emailed my attorney right away and he said "NO CREDIT EVER CALLS YOU TO TELL YOU THAT YOUR GOING TO COURT OR HAVE A SUMMONS" he said not to answer unknown calls and not to worry about anything. That these are scams trying to get people to collect unpaid debt and they unfortunately go after people that had bad credit to scare them into paying.

They buy bad debt. Old debt. They claim they are law officials and are not. This is illegal. I have had my attorney look into it. Nothing about them is legitimate. Please do not give them your information or money.

Same thing- bad cos etc- I don’t write checks

This guy called my mother’s cell phone. He left a message for me to please call him about an issue I have writing bad checks. First of all I don’t write checks. Then he says that he’s trying to help me so that I don’t have to go to court. Please be careful of these people guys.

Got this call like 2minutes after another call from scam. This is now 3 different scams . Who knew being "elderly" would lead to so many fake phone calls.

Same situation that Erica posted here. Robo call looking for my son who lives in Texas about returned items from his checking account. I live in MA. I called back and the person said his name was Don Nelson and was asked to pass along the message to my son so he can "Clear things up." They had his birth date. Didn't say what company he was from. A legit company would have stated the company's name and not left it up to me to pass along a message as serious as what he claims.

The call comes thru under 608-564-5174 registered to M. Fields in Madison WI. The caller is a male who neither identifies himself nor the company he represents. The call is a "courtesy call" in regards to claims/(slurry mumble ) paperwork (?) about to be presented to you by the State local county processed by the end of the week for the returned checks in THEFT with a banking services complaint. He proceeds to leave the number and extension for me to call and implies I need to do it today. 1st... since when do criminals (implication -me) get courtesy calls 2nd if it's truly THEFT then the local authorities would have an arrest warrant out for me 3rd like all of the other recipients ...what checks????. Please help yourselves and others by getting as much information as you can and report these calls to the FTC at www.ftc.org Take down the robocall number, 800#, and get their names and company. Cal them back but don't give them any info. Remember they called you, not the other way around. Give only the number they called. If they say its a debt you owe, then ask for written proof of the debt, who is the original lender and to include what are the procedures if you don't believe its your debt. Everything they should be doing if its not a scam.

This person called me stating they wanted to help with a check fraud and to contact them soon. They even provided me with last four numbers of a SSN, which of course were not mine.

This number called me two times. The same person calling me telling me i'am being reported for bad checks. I do not use checks.

OK THIS NUMBER CALLED ME AGAIN NOT SURE HOW THEY CAN GET ANOTHER NUMBER THINKING I'M GONG TO PICK IT THAT BREAKING THE LAW.....

I just got a call from this Number which i see cames up as a scam cause I don't write check at all. very stranged....

I got payday loan. Charge me with a bad check in I am going to to court for in take my drive license way

I got a voicemail stating that I had a summons at Texas state court for fraudulent checks and needed to call 888-564-5174 to fix the situation before a local court gets involved. Don Nelson was the man's name. He also left a voicemail with my father in regard to me letting him know that I have numerous bad checks. Not sure what to believe.

stated I had an outstanding loan at check and go and stated that its been outstanding/u paid in a year and they are issuing a warrant If I don't pay in 1 hour over the phone

Stated I had bad checks and accounts to clear up. I don't write checks. He did have the last 4 digits of my social security number.

Said he is a processor, and he was going to deliver a summons and that I needed to be in court within an hour..
