It was confirmed that this is the Equifax legit phone number. Disregard my previous message.

I found the number on Equifax website, called to put a freeze on my account, wasn't happy with the service, they couldn't see a fraud alert I initiated with Experian a month earlier. They added my email to the account, and I have to provide all my info and also wanted me to read back a passcode which was sent to my phone! The main number I find on their website is not working - I can't get connected to the agent. I am generally trying to be careful but this stinks. I wonder if it has something to do with the data breach they had few years ago and their website is still hacked. Equifax is the worst of all 3 bureaus. I didn't have any issues with other two and it was easy to reach them on the phone.
