Automated Vanguard calling with verification to view accounts. Was expected call.

I did not recognize this number that appeared two times this morning and assumed it was a missed call but no message was left. I want to report that it does belong to VANGUARD BROKERAGE and I didn’t call the number but when trying to log on to Vanguard I got a message that they were using two step verification and I needed to have a code number to access my account which they would send to me to my tel no or by email. Having selected message the phone rang and an automated female voice said to enter “1” and they would provide a code for me to enter in the box with blank spaces.
