This number was left in a voicemail, by someone claiming to be Sarah Newcomb from the US Department of Healthcare. This agency is not a real federal department, it doesn’t exist. The official agency is called the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. Under this department is the healthcare.gov website where you sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. The voicemail also said open enrollment is going on right now, which is also untrue. Today’s date is 8/26/2021, and open enrollment for 2021 has already ended. The open enrollment period for 2022 coverage is Nov 1-Dec 15, 2021. The message also mentioned something about prescriptions. This is clearly a scam. You can verify all this info online, on the healthcare.gov website. These people should be ashamed of themselves. |
