Got a call saying they were Amazon. I had 7 orders placed from Canada last night. They wanted to access my computer in order to resolve the issue. I asked them to give me a number to call and verify it was really Amazon. This was that number they provided. The man got insistent when i said not going to grant them access to my computer. I thanked them and hung up. As a side bar, I checked my Amazon account online which said I had zero orders placed in the last 6 months which is correct.

This number is associated with the "Amazon Playstation Fake Order Scam." Caller states they are from amazon and did we order a playstation? When we said no they said they actually stopped the order and were now calling to "fix" our computer. They asked that we logon to gsupport.me and put in a code that give them access to the computer. that's the scam, to get into your computer, not to protect you from a bogus order.

Calls pretending to be government, businesses, or family and friends was reported by a user from Libertyville via FTC. This call was reported as a robocall.
