Called my elderly mother today and said they were Dish Network. They had spoofed the number to say Dish Network on her caller ID. They said she had to give them her PIN and verify address so they could come upgrade her equipment, as Dish was making everyone update to Hoppers. They got her address off by a few numbers and she knew it was not Dish. But they did get her PIN. (Which has been changed now). Also they said the upgrade would drop her bill 20.00 a month, but she would have to pay them 130.00 to install this Saturday. Reported this to Credit agencies for IDENTITY THEFT per request of the Real Dish Network. Also reported the phone number to the Real Dish Network. |
