They called and said they were a debt collector and his name was Austin Brown

Caller I.D. showed "Smith Technology". Like most other posts here, got a message on our landline answering machine that whoever is using Microsoft Windows needs to call the phone number in question here so that their security team can fix it. We have had many calls like this before and know it's a scam.

An unwanted call from this Ithaca NY number arrived today. When the answering machine picked up, a robotic voice said my Windows computer had been compromised, and to press 1 to connect to the security team. This is one of many tech support scams flooding the phone lines. Whether it's computer repairs, timeshares, vacation giveaways, credit cards, air duct cleaning, home repairs, health products, solar energy, fake charities, the IRS, or Nigerian princes, A SCAM IS A SCAM IS A SCAM!

called to have access to my computer claimed was with Microsoft. Microsoft will never call you that's why there is McAFee or Norton

Message left on my machine that my personal data will be wiped on my Windows PC unless I contact them.

Total scam of computer under attack about to lose data and have personal info stolen.....must call their number immediately or press 1 for a security agent. They only talk to answer machines; they hang up if live human answers.

Someone called my cell . .voice sounded like that of a 70+YO and said "someone is trying to hack your computer, so if you are using Microsoft Windows stop using it and called us right away or else all your personal information will be compromised . .please call us right away at 607-319-8426..if you are not using MSW, than ignore this message"

Left message on land line answering machine. Computer generated voice. Obviously a scam.

Message said it was Microsoft support telling me my computer was infected an security breach, 5 days back red screen on computer also said Microsoft security breech. ITS A SCAM. took my computer to my tech guy 5 days ago, he told me Microsoft does not contact you.... TOTAL SCAM!!!!

These people have called me several times about my computer. Want me to turn it on and I know that this is a scam. These bozos need to get a real job and a real life How can this be stopped from getting these kind of calls. HELP??????
