sounded like fishing on my recorder so I looked up the number here and am not calling back

They left a message in my answering machine and want to talk to me about supply charges and I called back, they asked for my statement. The guy who answered the call is nasty. He claims that he is from consumer energy. I'll check with them.

Received partial message from this number about charges on my energy bill, asked me to call back and have my statement and a specific reference number handy. No sign it was actually from Consumers Energy as claimed. I recommend treating these sorts of calls as scams.

Recieved a call from this number saying there was a problem with the "supply charges" on my consumers power bill. Gave me a reference number and this number to call back. I called consumers power directly and they said it was another company wanting us to switch

Received a call to our answering machine asking to call about a problem about "supply" costs on our Consumers Energy bill. It was Peterson calling. Sounded like a bait and switch call.

Called Consumer's Energy directly - representative said that it sounded like an alternative gas supplier - wanting the existing statement was a tip off that they'll try and sell me an alternative source of gas.

Caught only part of the message on the machine - started with "Peterson" and wanting to discuss something about supply charges on my Consumer Energy Bill and gave a case number. Since we didn't have an issue, it is either a wrong number or suspicious.
