Called as a SSA representative

SSA only corresponds by mail. if there is a number on the letter call only that number

no answer when I call it back, I did leave one message now I am nervous

Received a call Sat 4/6/2019 from someone fishing for SS info. Sat. at noon?

Recently applied for my social security benefits. Jacob called left message said he was from social security and was reviewing my application and wanted to go over some option please call back and left a number different from the one he called on. Called the number back got voicemail asking to leave my ss # and a message and he would call back. I hung up left no message.

I couldn't get her first name but her last name is McCoy and she was from the Social Security Office. The caller ID also said from the Social Security Office. When called back the phone number just rang and rang and no answering machine.

The message said they’re from the Social Security Administration but I see there are several complaints about this number so I don’t know if it’s legit or not.
