Answered on the old rotary phone in the basement, so didn't see the Caller ID till later (it said Wheeling, WV). Didn't recognize the number. Woman with an Indian accent said her name was "Joanne" and that she was calling from "Emergency Services Center". I figured it was some "charity" and said I don't give money out over the phone and to take my number out of their computer. Figured it was spam when I answered on the 2nd ring and heard "call center" type noises in the background before anyone actually said anything. Also then called the carrier, a company called Citynet and talked to a tech support guy named Michael, who claimed that the number had been spoofed and that they knew about it. But apparently have been unable to do anything about it....

This number called me and I did a redial and immediately received a busy signal.......strange.

Chloe called because their info was that someone in my household had hearing difficulties and might need a hearing aid. I told her she sounded like a recording, she pleasantly said she wasn't, so I asked her what day it was - silence for about 10 seconds, then she hung up. Called number back - fast busy signal, no answer. Advice: if it sounds like a recording, ask it something like the address it's calling from, day of the week, what number is on caller id, etc. It will either start over or hang up.

Multiple calls; leaving no message. Finally, picked up. Female states "my records indicate....." I ask her how she obtained my records. HIPAA violation. She hung up on me.

Told me they were a "hearings officer." You will never get a call from any type of hearing officer unless it has been noticed and scheduled.

Received a call from this number today. hung up, no message. I receive a collection of robocalls on a regular basis and the majority of them - roughly 4 out of 5 - are relevant to a medical condition in this household or other vendors we use. I find that fascinating and suspicious. I'm suspicious that legitimate vendors - insurance, telephone company etc - SOMEONE - is selling our info possibly under some barely legal exception to privacy rules or something. Especially disturbing are the medical sales/scam calls. This should be investigated WAY more closely. I no longer think these are random or isolated boiler-room scammers with no help from legitimate businesses. They are getting good information on consumers from somewhere.

In the middle of trying to organize recovery efforts to fire in CA these idiots calling and no response. Where is the FCC and our state government? We need to all take an oath to never again buy a @$$^&( thing sold over the phone.

Said they were from the "Senior Hearing Authority" and their records indicate that someone in my household had hearing issues. "Is that correct?" I said no and the haged up on me.

This person called, and when I answered "Hello", it let me know my "Hello" was recorded, briefly played it back to me, before hanging up.
