A lady with a very thick Asian accent called and claimed she was from DHS and that I was to receive $14,589.00 in government grant money. Suspecting a scam, I played along. She wanted to verify my name, address, age, marital status, what I would do with the money, etc. She then asked how I wanted to receive the funds: directly into my bank account, on my debit card, or on a prepaid Visa card. I told her the prepaid Visa card. She then gave me a "confirmation" number and phone number 206-929-6700 directly to her "branch manager" who would "verify" the transaction. Just wanted to post this to let other people know about this SCAM!!! Turning this over to the authorities. |
